Intralogistics expert viastore continues firmly on its road to success. The international corporate group headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, increased its revenue to 130 million Euros in 2017, a growth of approximately ten percent compared to the previous year. This was announced in late November by viastore CEO, Philipp Hahn-Woernle, at the company’s annual press conference. viastore’s order intake remains at a very high level and the company wants to keep on growing in 2018. Employee numbers are growing correspondingly with a current total of 525 staff. “We are satisfied with 2017, and we are looking ahead to next year with optimism,” Philipp Hahn-Woernle summarizes the economic situation.

Alongside the prospering international business with system installations, the software business has greatly contributed to the growth. This results from the fact that as digitization is the basis of logistics and production. “The right software is the heart of all processes and automation systems. It is the basis for transparency, flexibility, quality, and intuitive working,” says Hahn-Woernle. Most firms realized this long ago: More than 90 percent of industrial companies are investing in the construction of digital factories in the heart of Europe. The market growth of integrated logistics solutions is constantly strong. “This development is also reflected in the orientation of viastore,” adds the CEO. The family-owned company, which was originally a manufacturer of scales and cranes, has undergone a major transformation over the past 125 years from metal-cutting manufacturer to digital-tech company. Over five generations it developed from a locksmith’s shop and a manufacturer of machinery and equipment to a system integrator and software house. Today, viastore is a leading provider of systems and software for warehouse management and integrated automated material flows in logistics and industrial production.

Partner solutions for even better customer orientation

The company’s portfolio includes the warehouse management system viadat, a modern software that can handle all intralogistics tasks necessitated by developments such as Industry 4.0. viastore is in close cooperation with a number of strategic partners. One new partner is proALPHA, the third-largest ERP provider for medium-sized companies. “Our common focus is on international companies from industry and manufacturing,” explains Markus Müllerschön, Vice President Sales at viastore. Another strategic partner is MPDV. Together with viastore, the MES experts concentrate on the efficient integration of logistics and production processes using warehouse management systems (WMS) und manufacturing execution systems (MES). With its viadat solutions, viastore’s focus is not exclusively on warehouse management, but rather on the entire material flow in logistics and production in industrial manufacturing companies. For this reason, the Industry 4.0 expert will not exhibit at next year’s CeMAT, but will go one step further and present its range of products and services at Digital Factory, which is also being held in the context of Hannover Messe trade show parallel to CeMAT. “We are convinced that in this way we will significantly enhance our perception in the marketplace as a software house and reach our intended target group to an even greater degree,” Philipp Hahn-Woernle points out.

Focus on the integration of logistics and production

The topic of logistics and production integration will also be one of the highlights at the second “Intralogistik-Softwaretag” which viastore will host on January 17, 2018 at Zeche Zollverein in Essen. The event is aimed at operations, logistics, and IT managers, and other decision-makers in trade and industry. In lectures and best-practice presentations, they can find out about the factors of success when implementing new software, as well as about the latest trends and technologies in intralogistics, and other topics. “Moreover, guests will hear a top-class keynote speech about ‘Logistics and production: Synergy potentials along the supply chain’,” says Markus Müllerschön.

Industrial solutions and innovations pave the way into a digital future

COO Detlef Ganz highlighted the added value viastore’s industrial solutions provide. He gave examples in which innovative systems and software solutions pave the way into the digital future, resulting in greater efficiency, lower warehouse and WIP stocks, and stable processes. “We are pioneers in the field of Industry 4.0 solutions that enable customers to work economically even if a batch size of only 1 is ordered,” says Detlef Ganz. “Integration and automation are the key. We have intensified our efforts in this field in order to develop even more intelligent solutions for our customers, which form the basis for growth and sustainability.”
